Job Description
Guysborough Memorial Hospital (GMH) is seeking 1-2 family physicians to work in the facility's family practice clinic, Level 4 Emergency Dept, inpatient, and adjacent long term care facility. Guysborough Memorial Hospital (GMH) serves the health care needs of the residents of Guysborough County. Located in Guysborough, the area enjoys outstanding healthcare through the recently expanded GMH and its talented team of healthcare professionals.
The physicians of the 10-bed facility and Emergency Dept. are supported by specialists at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital (45min away) and other healthcare facilities in the province. GMH also has a partnership with the Guysborough Youth Health Center and is adjacent to a 50-bed long-term care facility (Milford Haven Home for Special Care).

Responsibilities
- duties include full scope of practice as a family physician providing care to patients within the eastern zone and participating in call
- the physician will be responsible to the zone department head of family practice for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
- Nursing Home coverage - optional
- Urgent Treatment Centre - optional
Expected Hours
- F/T or P/T hours available
- Inpatient work shared amongst providers
- ED work/call shared amongst providers
Remuneration
- Remuneration type is either Longitudinal Family Medicine payment model or a Fee for Service payment model.
- F/T LFM remuneration estimated at $391, 128/year

Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All applicants must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
