About the Opportunity

Responsible for supporting the Manager by providing front line leadership, directing and managing staff in the daily operations and prioritization of Maintenance & Operations services, contributing to the implementation and maintenance of standards, policies and procedures, job analysis, workflow routines, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and staffing needs. Plans, organizes and directs the Maintenance & Operations department for the operation, maintenance and repair of the physical plant, buildings and grounds, as well as associated equipment and mechanical/electrical systems.  Responsible to oversee and coordinate assigned construction projects under $50,000; to participate in the tendering and awarding of service/renovation contracts and ensure proper implementation (i.e. standards maintained) and minimal interference with hospital staff and services.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Certified journeyperson or post secondary education related to maintenance and operations.
  • 3-5 years progressive leadership experience in facilities or maintenance management.
  • Healthcare experience would be considered an asset.
  • Experience managing a wide range of projects and stakeholder teams, committees, etc.
  • Proven record of success working with staff, contractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Ability to apply risk assessment and management principles and processes.
  • Strong communication, planning, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge in use of data collection and reporting systems and other related preventive maintenance software programs. Must have well developed computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SAP is considered an asset.
  • Organized with the ability to work in a fast paced, changing organization, responding to a variety of competing demands while working with minimal supervision.
  • Sound knowledge of physical plant equipment, power distribution systems, computerized building automation systems (BAS), computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, prioritize, manage and coordinate infrastructure needs and complex infrastructure projects.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly 

Compensation and Benefits

$40.95 - $51.19/hourly
