About the Opportunity
Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiac Investigation works with the Zone Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Non-Invasive Cardiac Investigation, the DI Medical Department Head for the Zone, and local DI and Cardiac Investigative Specialist Physicians to facilitate the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Department and to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and efficient DI&NCI services.
The Manager is accountable for the effective operation of assigned areas of responsibility. The Manager works in a co-leadership relationship with the designated Medical Lead / Lead Radiologist for assigned areas / facilities.
Duties are performed in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values, Standards, Policies and Procedures of the Nova Scotia Health, which is committed to patient safety, continued quality improvement, and advancing the delivery of safe and trusted health services.
The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiac Investigation will be responsible for the Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiac Investigation service at both Colchester East Hants Health Center, Truro, and the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of an approved undergraduate degree or diploma program in Medical Imaging Technology or Cardiology Technology, supplemented by additional formal management and/or leadership training
- Credentialed with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists, or other imaging-related credentialing body
- Licensed to practice by the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals or the Cardiology Technologists of Nova Scotia
- Minimum 3 years recent and relevant management or supervisory experience, demonstrating progressive development of financial, strategic and people management skills
- Masters Level Degree in health related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject is an asset
- Certified Health Executive designation with Canadian College of Health Leaders is an asset
- Equivalent combinations of experience and/or alternative education shall be considered
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family and client-centred diagnostic imaging and/or non-invasive cardiac investigative services
- Strong knowledge in the fields of Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiac Investigation to help inform strategy development and organizational planning
- Demonstrated strategic planning and systems thinking
- Experience in financial planning and management
- Demonstrated evidence-based collaborative problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Well developed organizational, networking, negotiation and change management skills
- Strong understanding of the principles of project management with demonstrated ability to lead work teams
- Demonstrated experience in leading change
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits
$46.36 - $61.60 hourly
