About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Program Management, Facilities Management and Support (FMS), the Manager of Building Infrastructure Planning provides provincial leadership on the strategic planning of infrastructure expenditures and oversees the planning of all construction projects within Nova Scotia Health (NSH), ensuring asset condition information is managed. The Manager of Building Infrastructure will strategically apply quantitative and qualitative indicators to classify all facilities which will guide NSH when making investments in programs, R&R projects, replacements or disposals. The position is responsible for the EZ/NZ portfolio and applying industry best standards and KPIs to determine sustainability. Working closely with stakeholders and based on organizational needs, the Manager of Building Infrastructure Planning will make recommendations to infrastructure repairs/upgrades, where to invest existing assets as well as where to vacate/dispose of assets. This planning, a key asset to NSH’s long term patient care and community strategy, will be strategically aligned in supporting the development of NSH’s system Health Services plan and will result in a long term infrastructure strategy to support and enable its success.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Engineering Degree with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in/from Canada
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute or recognized equivalent considered an asset
  • Current knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Environmental regulations, applicable CSA healthcare and related standards, ASHRAE, and National Fire Code
  • Proven communication skills: oral and written
  • 5-7 years of recent and relevant leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management leading a team of engineers, architects and technologists in a planning function
  • Leadership experience within a professional planning service environment
  • Construction estimating experience in the healthcare sector considered an asset
  • Experience in the development of complex workplace strategies and planning solutions for a large and diverse customer base
  • Experience and knowledge of leading practice planning including innovative and alternative means of aligning requirements with the fulfillment of customer program delivery requirements
  • Knowledge of preparing strategic documents which support business case development to inform decision or solutions
  • Proven ability to develop, monitor and manage the achievement of performance targets for a technical department
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and address simultaneous customer concerns while maintaining adherence to standards and resolving potentially conflicting demand across the customer base
  • Strong analytical, process and problem solving skills

  • Permanent, Full-Time / 100% / 75 Hours Bi-weekly 

 

Compensation and Benefits

$49.13 - $61.41 Hourly
