About the Opportunity
The Analysts reports to Managers within the Corporate Reporting, Budget, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Analytics departments and are responsible to provide analytical support to corporate activities serviced by the finance portfolio (Budget, Variance Analysis, Forecasting, Reporting, etc.), transactional processing centers (Accounts Receivable, Payroll, etc.) and support to Nova Scotia Health leaders (Directors, Managers, Physician Leaders, etc.).
Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, the Analyst is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with legislative and organizational requirements. This includes scheduling, executing and analyzing payroll jobs, reports, processing adjustments and overseeing third-party remittances. This role also plays a key part in year-end activities, including preparation and submission of T4’s. Additionally, the analyst collaborates with IM/IT to support system updates, master data management, and payroll system testing. They are responsible for troubleshooting payroll system issues, conducting initial investigations and engaging IM/IT when escalation is required. The Analyst provides proactive expertise and advice in conducting analysis and developing recommendations to support business decisions making in each zone, improve performance, reduce risks and assisting in the developing of business cases to support improvements
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business and/or accounting program required
- Undergraduate business degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years strong management and/or functional system experience and knowledge of budget, corporate reporting, general accounting, financial analytics required
- Enrolment or completion of accounting designation considered an asset
- Possesses a solid understanding of the payroll process and key performance indicators
- Strong knowledge of all legislative
- Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of finance and Payroll practices, government legislation,
- Highly knowledgeable of SAP functionality for both Finance and Payroll processes. Highly *knowledgeable of technical aspects of SAP and how they relate to or impact the business process.
- Experience in engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, *participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives an organization
- Strong analytical skills and strong conflict resolution skills
- Efficiently delegates the issues to the team members
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Permanent, Full-time position, 75 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$33.14 - $41.42 Hourly
