About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director Palliative Care, the Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to multi-disciplinary teams within a patient-centred, collaborative Practice Model for Palliative Care patient population within the Cape Breton, Victoria and Inverness counties.
Working collaboratively and consultatively with Provincial Palliative Care programs, patients/clients, families, Leadership teams, staff, physicians, community partners, and other service providers within Cape Breton, Victoria and Inverness counties. The Manager applies strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges to achieve the ultimate goal of high quality, safe and cost effective services using a patient focused approach.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline; nursing preferred.
- Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolio.
- Minimum 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment.
- Experience developing and facilitating strategies consistent with the principles of Organizational Health.
- Demonstrated proficiency in program planning, financial and human resource management, oral and written communication and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome, and cope with unexpected challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuum.
- Demonstrated commitment to employee and self-development and continuous quality improvement.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, internet, email, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support.
- Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as managing multiple priorities, time-sensitive deadlines, stressful situations, working flexible/extended hours and travelling within and outside NSHA as necessary.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$48.17 - $63.99 Hourly
