Position Vacancy: Clinical Coordinator 
Nova Scotia Mood and Anxiety Insured Services Program

The Office of Addictions and Mental Health (OAMH) is seeking a Registered Doctoral level Psychologist or Registered Doctoral level Social Worker to lead the Province’s first insured services program for mental health and addictions, as the Clinical Coordinator.

This is a part-time, flexible position, and OAMH is currently seeking an individual available to work between 0.5 and 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE). The exact workload will be determined based on organizational needs and the successful candidate’s availability. The position allows for both in-person and remote work, and flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Support: Support contracted clinicians (Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselling Therapists) in delivering evidence-based care, provide clinical guidance to clinicians when treatment goals aren't met, client satisfaction is low, or additional training is required (approx. 2-4 hours per week).

  • Mentorship & Training: Facilitate monthly Community of Practice sessions and lead professional development programs for contracted clinicians (approx. 4 hours per month, plus preparation time). 

  • Quality Assurance: Become proficient in using Greenspace to guide measurement-based care implementation, support clinician training, and facilitate professional development and foster evidence based, best practice for the insured services program (approx. 1-3 hours per week).

  • Client Care Coordination: Assist in referrals, monitoring treatment outcomes, and supporting transitions between public and private care (approx. 2-4 hours per week). 

  • Evaluation: Contribute to the program’s monitoring and evaluation framework to ensure quality and identify areas for improvement (approx. 1-4 hours per week).

  • Provide input into policy development related to the mood and anxiety insured services program (approx. 1-4 hours/week). 

  • Administrative Responsibilities (approx. 4-6 hours per week):

    • Governance: Act as the link between clinicians and governance groups, report on program status, and provide decision-making support for escalated client care situations.

    • Planning: Organize and plan Community of Practice sessions and check-ins with clinicians.

    • Records Management: Ensure compliance with privacy laws and maintain distinct client records for the program.

    • Billing: Learn the billing platform and assist clinicians with invoicing and identifying challenges related to billing.

The Clinical Coordinator is accountable to the Program Director, OAMH

Qualifications:

  • Registered Psychologist in good standing for 5 years with a regulatory body in a Canadian jurisdiction. If not already registered in Nova Scotia, the successful candidate must be eligible for registration and complete the registration process with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP) prior to or shortly after starting the position.

  • Registered Social Worker in good standing for 5 years with a regulatory body in a Canadian jurisdiction. If not already registered in Nova Scotia, the successful candidate must be eligible for registration and complete the registration process with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers prior to or shortly after starting the position.

  • Registered Doctoral level Psychologist or Doctoral level Social Worker with at least 2 years experience providing clinical supervision duties. 

  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory, administrative, or governance roles related to the profession.

  • Knowledge of:

  • Strong judgment, professional discretion, and familiarity with regulatory frameworks and disciplinary processes.

  • Technological proficiency or a willingness to learn, as the role involves considerable online presence and resource access. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $165,000 - 175,000 (based on 0.6 - 1.0 FTE)
