
Company Description
The Aberdeen Regional Hospital is seeking a General Surgeon to be a part of their team of three surgeons. This a full spectrum general surgery position which includes endoscopy.
Regular OR time, minor procedures and endoscopy opportunities will be scheduled equitably among the team.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- work a full scope of practice as a general surgeon
- participate in call shifts 1:3
- provide support which includes day-time coverage and overnight/weekend coverage
- be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Surgery for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice
- operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health Authority
Expected hours
- permanent, full time
- 1:3 call
This opportunity is approved for fee for service (FFS) per the negotiated rates in the 2023-2027 Physician Agreement. Your annual income will depend solely on your own clinical output.
Qualifications
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia(CPSNS)
- all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada(RCPSC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association(CMPA)
