Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH), located in Sydney, Nova Scotia, is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist. This position is available immediately for the right candidate who has Royal College Canada certification and eligible for license with College of Physician Surgeons Nova Scotia. The successful applicant will be part of a team of 7 Anesthesiologists serving the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and the surrounding communities with a catchment area of over 150,000.

There is opportunity to engage in research and/or have medical teaching positions with Dalhousie University, should that be of interest. 

Cape Breton Regional Hospital is a 250-bed tertiary care institution that provides a broad range of medical care to patients in the Eastern Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.  The Anesthesiology service at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital is equipped to provide a full range of specialised care. 

Job Description

  • Duties include full scope of practice as an anesthesiologist providing care to patients within the Eastern Zone and participating in call.
  • The physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head of Anesthesia for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
