About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Maintenance & Operations, the Chief Power Engineer- 4th Class is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, inspection, and registrations/certifications of all equipment, boiler plants, chiller plants, and associated systems, within Nova Scotia Health facilities, while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with legislation and established standards. The Chief Power Engineer oversees all power engineers, plant operators and trainees for the assigned site(s). This position must also liaise, communicate, supervise and work with the other trades, contractors and onsite supervisors to complete repairs, replace equipment, complete upgrades, prioritize, and problem solve as required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate required
  • One year experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Proficiency in equipment, tools and vehicles related to the work environment
  • Travel may be required, access to reliable transportation is required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Travel: Up to 25%

Compensation and Benefits

$31.68 - $37.43 Hourly
