About the Opportunity

The Cook II is responsible for preparing fresh to order room service menu items for patients, clients and customers within a fast paced line cooking team environment. The Cook II is responsible for the ingredient control of recipes which includes the measuring and portioning of recipe ingredients and the production of food items for the patient menu. The Cook II is also responsible for following: cost control procedures, safe food handling procedures, therapeutic, allergy and menu standards, and providing overall customer service according to departmental standards. Frequent physical demands including extensive standing and walking, bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing, and transferring food supplies throughout the shift.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent required
  • Recognized Food Safety and Sanitation Course required or willingness to obtain within six (6) months
  • One (1) year related experience required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including ability to follow written and oral instructions required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other in a team environment
  • Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills and ability to work under pressures of time limitations
  • Physical capability to perform duties of position including heavy lifting, withstanding demands of walking and standing during shift, working in an environment with heat and temperature fluctuations, as well as the ability to work weekend and rotating shifts as assigned
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Casual relief position, no guaranteed hours

Compensation and Benefits

$23.25 - $25.84 Hourly
