About the Opportunity

The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist is a key member of the One Person One Record team as a subject matter expert within clinical IT applications and a clinical support for the OPOR Adult Oncology and Pwoer Trials Team.

They will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide support across the province for the implementation and support of the OPOR clinical information system. They will support provincial standardization, system optimization and support Adult Oncology and Research Working Groups across the province.

The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist is a key member of the team holding both subject matter expertise within clinical IT applications and is key to ensure achievement of both portfolio and broader NSH & IWK goals related to OPOR. The Clinical Informatics analyst will facilitate the design, implementation, optimization, and adoption of clinical informatics initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders, technical experts and/or vendors as required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry level Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP (or similar standard) accredited university required.
  • Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia required (NSCP)
  • Minimum five years’ experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
  • Experince with order set development, clinical trials and/or oncology preferred
  • Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
  • Experience working with and supporting clinical application systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse partners
  • Strong attention to detail and competency with regards to best available evidence
  • Experience in data analytics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, independent and collaborative decision-making skills and professional and clinical leadership ability required
  • Experience with Meditech/BDM/Cerner Millenium an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Power Point, Excel) internet, email, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support
  • Knowledge of Medication Safety and patient safety concepts required
  • Competencies in other languages asset; French preferred
  • Leadership skills in chairing/facilitating meetings, and providing education sessions
  • Develop skills to prioritize, work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Demonstrated interest in professional development and lifelong learning required

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Biweekly
  • Travel to various sites may be required 

Compensation and Benefits

  • $46.36 - $57.95 Hourly
