About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance & Operations Assistant Manager, the Electrician contributes to the safe and effective operations of Nova Scotia Health facilities by providing a full range of electrical services respecting the day-to-day maintenance and project-related activities for the facilities. The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all existing, new, or renovated electrical systems and related equipment within the Nova Scotia Health facilities. This position may require travel to work at other sites. The Electrician may perform other duties as required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Valid Nova Scotia Journeyperson Electrican Certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge in maintenance repair and installation of all types of electrical systems and new equipment
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and Safety Codes
  • Valid training in the following will be considered an asset: WHMIS, Confined Space Awareness, Fall Protection, Arc Flash Training, First Aid, Lock & Tag Out, Infection Control
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately 18 months

Compensation and Benefits

$30.28 – $36.04 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
