About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director Cancer Care, in partnership with the Medical Director EZ/NZ, the Director is responsible for operational planning, management and leadership of cancer programs to ensure care is integrated and reflects best practice evidenced based care. This includes ensuring the program meets its clinical, research, and teaching mandates and it complies with established standards of care as defined by the Cancer Care Program. Working in a co-leadership model, the Director has shared accountability in setting priorities and implementing strategies that improve person centred cancer across the continuum of care. The Director and Medical Director Co-Lead ensures that programs, services, and units are developed, operated and evaluated while maintaining efficient and effective resource utilization, patient/family satisfaction, and quality patient care that meets established standards and public expectations.

About You

  • We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Master’s Degree in a health-related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject
  • Equivalent experience and/or alternative education may be considered
  • Current licensure with applicable regulated health profession
  • The following would be considered an asset:
    • Experience working in acute clinical services and the health system
    • Certified Health Executive designation
    • College of Health Leaders certificate
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant senior leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management to deliver high quality services within the Nova Scotia Health
  • Experience working in the cancer care system
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, decision-making negotiating, communication, conceptualization & evaluation
  • Specific experience with strategic and operational planning and implementation and related management functions
  • Demonstrated track record of success in general management involving significant departmental responsibilities
  • Experienced in management/leadership activities involving organizational change, strategic planning, human resource administration, and financial planning
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective change agent using interpersonal, communication and team building skills
  • Proven relationship building skills
  • Proven experience building high performing teams
  • Demonstrated organizational and priority setting skills
  • System Thinker
  • Critical thinking and Analytical Skills
  • Continuous Quality Improvement and Risk Management skills
  • Team Building and conflict management skills
  • Motivated, self-starter

Hours

  • Permanent full-time; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$58.09 - $77.19 Hourly
