About the Opportunity

The IM/IT Senior Systems SQL Database Administrator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and strategic alignment of clinical systems and database infrastructure. Reporting to the IM/IT Digital Solutions Manager, this role collaborates with Clinical Applications teams, Business Applications teams and various technical partners and vendors to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable database solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

• System Reliability: Proactively monitor and maintain SQL Server databases across development and production environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with cross-functional teams—including application analysts, infrastructure teams, and clinical stakeholders—to resolve database issues and support strategic initiatives.

• Strategic Alignment: Contribute to the design and documentation of database systems that align with organizational goals, including digital transformation and clinical system integration.

• Inclusive Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives and encourages knowledge sharing across technical and non-technical teams.

• Leadership & Expertise:

  •    Act as a subject matter expert in SQL database administration while functionally guiding project teams through technical implementations.
  •    Lead efforts in upgrading legacy systems, implementing disaster recovery strategies, and refining operational processes.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Degree/diploma in Computer Science or IT (specialization in SQL/Oracle), or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with SQL database Application support and maintenance. 
  • Preference to those with experience with supporting 20+ enterprise level application databases.
  • Expertise in SQL clustering, backup/migration strategies, and Windows Server environments.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and high-availability configurationsProven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in clinical application support and change management is an asset.
  • Certifications in ITIL or PMP are considered beneficial
  • Strong technical process and procedural documentation skills considered an asset
  • Ability to troubleshoot, document and resolve issues using best practice and knowledge of internal and/or external business processes to improve service
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills
  • Organizational Skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Hours

  • Permanent full-time role (75 hours biweekly).

  • Operates in a 24/7/365 environment with on-call and after-hours responsibilities.

Compensation and Benefits

$38.36- $47.95 Hourly
