About the Opportunity

Reporting to and in collaboration with the Central Zone Modality Manager, the Assistant Manager will participate in facilitating the daily administrative and clinical operations to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and efficient 
Diagnostic Imaging Services. The Assistant Manager will also work in collaboration with the Team Lead to ensure efficient and effective operation of assigned areas of responsibility. 
The Assistant Manager role is a new position that will:
i) provide operational and professional leadership, including coaching and minor performance management.
ii) support the ongoing development of Diagnostic Imaging services
iii) support the ongoing operations of Diagnostic Imaging Services in collaboration with the Central Zone Modality Manager and Team Lead
iv) review with the Central Zone Modality Manager, data and reports pertaining to Diagnostic Imaging operations and practices.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of an approved undergraduate degree program in a Health Service discipline related to Diagnostics and Therapeutics and supplemented by additional formal management and/or leadership training
  • Active licensure (or eligible) with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent relevant supervisory/managerial experience in a healthcare environment, demonstrating progressive development of financial, strategic and people management skills.
  • Recent and relevant experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and/or alternative education shall be considered
  • Leadership, organizational and decision making skills in support of patient, family, and client-centred diagnostic and therapeutic services
  • Knowledge in the field to help inform strategy development and organizational planning, strategic planning and systems thinking
  • Experience in financial planning and management
  • Evidence-based collaborative problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Well-developed organizational, networking, negotiation and change management skills
  • Understanding of the principles of project management with demonstrated ability to lead work teams
  • Experienced in leading change
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies. (e.g., LEAN)
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs
  • Advanced written and oral communications skills/positive energetic public persona
  • Cultural competence
  • Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
  • Possesses functional knowledge of Radiology Information Systems and document control systems

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Approximately 12 months

Compensation and Benefits

$38.36 - $50.97 hourly
