About the Opportunity
Reporting to the manager of Maintenance and Operations, the Air conditioning/Refrigeration Technician (Technician)is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all refrigeration systems and associated air conditioning units within the Nova Scotia Health. The Technicians work independently and/or with others to repair, install, and maintain refrigeration/air conditioning systems including all electrical components, controls, and related equipment.The Technician is required to work with minimum supervision and must be able to make competent decisions including troubleshooting/repairing equipment, adapting quickly to priority situations while working under constant deadlines to provide and maintain services critical to direct patient care and building systems.
About You
• Refrigeration Air Conditioning Journeyperson Red Seal required.
• Knowledge of building code standards, OH&S and refrigeration systems and components (i.e. Domestic & Industrial). These systems operate on the Freon family of refrigerants.
• One year post journeyperson experience is required
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to operate various motor vehicles, machinery, tools and equipment related to the work environment.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health.
• Competencies in other languages is an asset, French preferred.

- Permanent Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits
$27.43 - $32.65 Hourly
