About the Opportunity

This role will develop innovative design solutions that enhance user experience. 

User-Centered Design 

Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and user needs. 

Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to gather insights and inform design decisions. 

Prototyping and Development Support 

Develop wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that effectively communicate design concepts and support business objectives. 

Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of designs into production, addressing any technical constraints. 

Optimization and Accessibility 

Optimize interfaces for responsiveness, performance, and accessibility, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and best practices. 

Continuously refine designs based on user feedback, analytics, and evolving project requirements. 

Stakeholder Engagement 

Present and justify design concepts to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to iterate and improve solutions. 

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with overall project goals and timelines. 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or another related program required
  • 1-3 years’ professional experience in UI/UX design on both web and mobile platforms required
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.  
  • Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) an asset
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics or PageSense for user data analysis an asset
  • Understanding the role of microcopy in improving user interactions and clarity an asset
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and information architecture
  • Experience with responsive design and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG)
  • Ability to translate analytics and user feedback into actionable design improvements
  • Advanced knowledge of creating designs optimized for multiple devices and screen sizes
  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Excellent communication skills; able to speak, listen and write in a clear, confident, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques 
  • Effective time management and decision-making ability to set priorities based on deadlines (both internal and external); demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision 
  • Highly resourceful and adaptable with the ability to problem-solve 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Organization and planning skills, including developing a work schedule, monitoring progress towards goals, and tracking details, data, information, and activities 
  • Adaptability to changing technologies and project requirements 
  • Leadership qualities with a focus on mentoring and knowledge sharing

Hours

  • Long-assignment, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly 
  • Approximately 24 months (assignment length is subject to change)

Compensation and Benefits

$38.36 - $47.95 Hourly
