About the Opportunity
The Sr. Clinical Informatics analyst will facilitate the design, implementation, optimization and adoption of clinical informatics initiatives by working collaboratively with stakeholders, technical experts and/or vendors as required. Using advanced critical and creative thinking the Sr. Clinical Informatics Analyst analyzes, prioritizes, and translates user needs and requests related to the CIS. The Sr. Clinical Informatics Analyst works with stakeholders across NSH, IWK and its many external partners.
The Sr. Clinical Informatics Analyst collaborates with key clinical and business stakeholders throughout the province, in partnership with the province’s NS Digital Services and the Department of Health and Wellness.
The Sr Clinical Informatics Analyst will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide advanced level of support across the province for the implementation and support of the OPOR clinical information system.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Post-secondary education in clinical, health science, information technology and or health informatics. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience.
- Minimum of three years clinical informatics experience
- Experience in workflow and process redesign
- Project management, quality improvement and change management skills an asset
- Demonstrated success in supporting healthcare staff in the use of electronic clinical applications
- Able to function well within a team setting and independently
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, organizational and communications skills
- Ability to actively demonstrate role competencies and leadership
- Possess a valid driver’s license and ability for some travel within the province.
- Certification in CPHIMS, IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP) and/or organizational change management an asset.
- Experience supporting or using clinical application systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment
- Ability to relay or explain complex technical issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff
- Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories, and concepts within healthcare
- Working knowledge of project management principles and the software development lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of health care and technology industry best practice relating to software applications
- Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis
- Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to solve high risk, complex issues
- Experience in transformational or process analysis to support change management principles

- Long-assignment, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Biweekly
- Approximately 12 months (assignment length subject to change)
Compensation and Benefits
$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
