About the Opportunity
The IMIT Sr. Business Analyst (Sr. BA) is responsible for the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of clinical documentation and collaborates with key clinical and business stakeholder for NSHealth, in partnership with the province’s Internal Services Department and the Department of Health and Wellness, moves towards the rationalization of disparate system and the OPOR strategy. The IMIT Sr. BA will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide support across the organization to leverage IMIT application aligned with NSH and its client’s strategic, mission, vision, and goals. The IMIT Sr. BA performs a variety of tasks, including but limited to evaluation of request for change, data retrieval and optimization opportunities; troubleshooting and assisting with the resolution of errors and the other system issues; development of materials and communication of system changes to end users; and, building and maintaining all system configuration items in line with best practice and appropriate stakeholder approvals.
The IMIT Sr. Business Analyst (Sr. BA) reports to an IMIT Provincial Manager and takes direction from an IMIT Operation Manager. The IMIT Sr. BA provides expert subject matter expertise for the IMIT Clinical Documentation, Audit & Reporting Record Management domain of practice.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Manages system generated work queues associated with misdirected faxes, refused documentation, missing information and general queue maintenance.
- Responsible to respond to escalated and critical correction to personals health information.
- Provide oversight for chart deficiency management, and ensure the NS Health patient records are accurate, available, and complete.
- Responsible to oversee clinical documentation incomplete record assignment.
- Facilitates incomplete record notification in accordance with NS Health policy and NS Health Medical Bylaws.
- Performs quality audits and assists with business operation design and workflow changes to support record management.
***This is a provincial position. The successful candidate(s) could sit at any of the Nova Scotia Health sites within the province***
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related discipline. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related field.
- 2+ years’ experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis or systems support.
- CHIMA or HICA certification preferred.
- Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset.
- Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP) and/or organizational change management an asset.
- Experience supporting clinical application systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment considered an asset
- Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff
- Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories and concepts within healthcare
- Strong knowledge of health care and technology industry best practice relating to software applications
- Ability to solve a range of complex problems; identify innovative solutions; and, use clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills

Compensation and Benefits
$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
