About the Opportunity

In the interim, reporting to the Senior Director, Clinical Networks, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services and working closely with the Diagnostic & Therapeutic Senior Medical Director, Zone DI Directors, referring and receiving providers, and provider office administrative staff, the Manager, DI Central Intake is a key member of Diagnostic Imaging services.  This position establishes, implements, and manages day to day operations of the NSH-wide multidisciplinary DI Central Intake team.  The NSH-wide DI Central Intake multidisciplinary team receives, reviews and routes Diagnostic Imaging referrals to the most appropriate provider utilizing validated current criteria and a medical imaging referral management system. The Manager is responsible for monitoring and reporting volumes, wait times and other key performance indicators.  

 

The Manager adopts continuous quality improvement principles, innovation, and technological initiatives to advance Nova Scotia Health’s commitment to enhance access to Diagnostic Imaging services. The Manager facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.  

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Graduate of an approved undergraduate degree program in a management or health-related field and supplemented by additional formal management and/or leadership training. 
  • Registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college or association.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and/or alternative education shall be considered.
  • 3-5 years of recent relevant supervisory/managerial experience in a health environment, demonstrating progressive development of financial, strategic and people management skills.
  • Master’s Level Degree in health-related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject an asset.
  • Certified Health Executive designation with the Canadian College of Health Leaders an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clinical care providers required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and implement transformative initiatives required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and team members in a virtual environment required.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly. 

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
