About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Physician Resources, the Business Analyst is responsible for the effective oversight of physician contracts and payment programs. The Business Analyst will be responsible for overseeing and developing all processes and reporting related to the administration of physician leadership contracts and payments. This includes the maintenance of physician leader job descriptions and compensation frameworks as well as tracking tools. They will also be responsible coordinating timely physician payments for programs where Nova Scotia Health is the paymaster. The Business Analyst supports decision making within Medical Affairs by conducting analysis on operational and financial data and presenting findings to Medical Affairs leadership. This includes the analysis of large data sets and the presentation of findings. In addition, this role is tasked with developing policies and procedures that promote efficiency and accountability within Medical Affairs.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business and/or Health Services Administration or an equivalent combination of training and demonstrated work experience with an emphasis on compensation, contract management, physician remuneration, or financial management within a health care context
  • Masters level training in Business Administration, Health Service Administration or equivalent is considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years analytical, contract-related and/or program administration experience preferably in a health care/physician environment required
  • Experience leading processes and following project plans with an understanding of the impact of technical and operational changes within a large complex organization
  • Experience in the negotiation of physician remuneration and interpretation of contracts and related issues
  • Experience in setting benchmarks and monitoring ongoing performance
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain excellent customer service
  • Strong analytical and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$33.14 - $41.42 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
