About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager MHA Quality and Safety, Mental Health and Addictions, the Quality Leader advances the work of the Mental Health & and Addictions program by providing:
- Leadership and support to the Mental Health & Addictions, Northern Zone Leadership Team, and support to the NZ MHA Director's domain of responsibility, Quality Committee, managers, and staff on strategic and operational planning, clinical efficiency, performance measurement, quality improvement, patient safety, evaluation initiatives, and quality reviews
- Knowledge and expertise in the identification, development, and implementation of operational and performance measurement initiatives such as improved structures, processes, and practices that impact positively on the outcomes for patients and families.
- Leadership and decision support for health systems analysis and redesign initiatives consistent with a population health and integrated health system approach.
- Analytical and research support in the form of statistical reports, literature reviews, environmental scans, best practice guidelines, and benchmarking standards.
The Quality Leader uses their excellent quantitative and analytical skills to lead projects and initiatives and make recommendations to the Mental Health and Addictions Leadership Team and committees to prioritize and evaluate initiatives. The Quality Leader demonstrates a working knowledge of project planning and project management methodologies. The successful candidate possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable them to work as a member of a team, facilitate groups and present information within various levels of the Zone and provincial health care environments.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Masters Degree in Health Services Administration (MHSA), Business Administration (MBA) or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Experience in a mental health setting an asset.
- Five years’ experience in strategic planning, project management, facilities planning, program development and evaluation, or quality management in a health care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, coordination and group facilitation.
- Experience in working with senior administration and clinicians in collaborative/partnership activities.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and evaluation, redesign and quality improvement methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge of health care delivery systems in various hospital and community settings.
- Demonstrated understanding of the interrelationships of all hospital departments and services in program delivery.
- Expert-level skills in data management, statistical manipulation, and data analysis an asset.
- Demonstrated expertise in the application of word processing, spreadsheet, database and graphics and reporting software/systems.
- Knowledge of MIS Standards.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Institute of Health Information and associated databases.
- Knowledge of Accreditation Canada and experience with the accreditation process and standards
- Demonstrates understanding of the interrelationships of health care organization departments and services in program delivery.
- Understanding of health care organization funding and budget preparation.
- Well-developed decision making, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience drafting and submitting grant proposals.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$40.15 - $50.19 Hourly
