About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Zone Manager, Public Engagement & Community Health Board Support and working collaboratively with other members of the Public Engagement and Community Health Board Support Service, the Secretary provides administrative support for routine CHB operations at the local, zone and provincial level. Duties include financial administration, communications and coordination of administration processes (related to wellness grants, volunteer recruitment and orientation, community health planning), arranges meetings and events, supports the zone council of chair meetings, participates in program-level committee work as required and other initiatives as necessary. The Secretary is part of a collaborative team that supports 35 Community Health Boards (CHB’s). The Secretary will be supporting 9 Community Health Boards in the Eastern Zone of Nova Scotia.
About You
We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 plus graduate of a recognized office administration / business / secretarial program and/or a combination of education, training and progressively responsible experience required
- Minimum of two years of related secretarial experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Publisher and Outlook, including Lync)
- Proficiency in SAP preferred
- Experience in navigating social media and other communications platforms an asset
- Experience with meeting and event logistics
- Experience in minute taking is required
- Experience working with volunteer board members an asset
- Experience in a health care setting preferred
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be self-directed and adept at problem-solving, while working with minimal supervision
- Must have strong organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to prioritize upon short notice while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Valid Driver's License required and access to a reliable vehicle as travel may be required within the zone
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Permanent, Full-time position; 70 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$25.19 - $28.08 Hourly
