About the Opportunity

The IM/IT Sr. Systems Analyst (SA) / Business Analyst (BA), reports to an IMIT/OPOR Manager, and is responsible for the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of information management and technology solutions, projects and services across NSHA, IWK and its many external clients. The IM Sr. SA/BA collaborates with key clinical and business stakeholders throughout the province as the organization, in partnership with the province’s Internal Services Department and the Department of Health and Wellness, moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOR strategy.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Work on complex, cross-functional, and provincial business and clinical solutions
  • Information gathering and documentation of business/technical requirements
  • Ensures IT systems and processes are implemented and maintained to support the effective and safe delivery of patient information to care providers in clinical care settings
  • Establish and maintain working relationships between the Clinical and Business stakeholders and IM/IT and/or OPOR to determine appropriate IT solutions
  • Interpret business requirements and determine optimum business intelligence solutions to meet needs
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation efforts meet integration and performance expectations
  • Collaborate with other team members, vendors and clinical stakeholders
  • Perform analyses for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms
  • Participate in day-to-day software maintenance activities with a rotating responsibility for responding to tickets and client questions
  • Complete other duties as assigned in relation to the position description

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related discipline. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis or systems support.
  • Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset.
  • Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP) and/or organizational change management an asset.
  • Experience supporting clinical application systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment considered an asset.
  • Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff.
  • Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories and concepts within healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of health care and technology industry best practice relating to software applications.
  • Ability to solve a range of complex problems; identify innovative solutions; and, use clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service.
  • Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to solve high risk, complex issues.
  • Experience in transformational or process analysis to support change management principles.
  • Ability to clearly communicates NSH vision, mission and values.
  • Experience in working with patient care leaders.

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
