About the Opportunity

Responsible for the overseeing a team of project managers, coordinators, architects, and business analysts in planning, coordination, and project management of IM/IT projects across the province and within the zone (s), participating and supporting functional design planning, specification writing, drawing review, cost estimation, and tender document coordination. This includes accountability for overall project oversight from time of project submission, through prioritization and approval to completion and interfacing with IM/IT, ICTS, IWK, DHW resources, contractors, stakeholders, and clinicians, to ensure project is delivered within budget and to project milestone dates and most importantly meeting the objectives of the project.

 

The Program Manager of Project Services will also be responsible for interacting with those projects managed by the Department of Health and Wellness (DHW) and Internal Services Department (ISD), providing NSH oversight throughout the project for scope and functional maintaining.

 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education, training and 10+ years progressive leadership experience required
  • Project Management Professional certification required 
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ senior leadership experience with IM/IT, Biomed or Project services in an organization of significant size and/or complexity required
  • Master’s degree an asset, particularly in health administration, leadership, masters of business administration
  • Certified Health Executive and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) designation or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire an asset
  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and/or organizational change management certification an asset
  • Experience managing a wide range of complex projects and stakeholder teams, committees, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consultation within a diverse range of stakeholder teams
  • Strong budgeting and project estimating skills
  • Proven record of success working with staff, contractors, consultants, developers and clients

  • Proven ability to apply quality management principles and processes
  • Ability to apply risk assessment and management principles and processes
  • Strong communication, planning, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other departments, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of health care issues
  • Experience  defining IT strategy, policy and process for a large, complex organization
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding of IT tools and processes (eg: PMP, ITIL change management)
  • Ability to execute through effective delegation, motivation and oversight
  • Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units
  • Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures
  • Clearly communicates NSH vision, mission and values
  • Experience in working with patient care leaders and staff across a large organization.
  • Significant experience in managing employees and resources.

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 Hours biweekly 

Compensation and Benefits

$48.17 - $60.21 Hourly
