Health Association Nova Scotia is partnering with the Department of Seniors and Long-term Care to provide recruitment support to Continuing Care Employers across Nova Scotia. There are numerous opportunities across Western Zone

Are you a well-rounded professional, pursuing a challenging career with the chance to grow and make a real difference? There are many available positions in long term care for Registered Nurses who have a passion for working with seniors; or with home nursing, where you will provide care to people of all ages in their homes and other community settings.

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the provision of all aspects of care in the long-term care facility or the home, as well as the training and leadership of Licensed Practical Nurses and CCAs. You must have a sincere passion and commitment to providing quality services for seniors.


Responsibilities:

Long-term Care

  • Practice safe, compassionate, competent, and ethical care throughout the continuum of health and wellness of the residents.
  • Administer direct nursing care and plan Resident care in consultation from the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Administering and recording prescribed medication


Home Care

  • Diabetes management
  • Dialysis
  • IV medications
  • Palliative care
  • Phlebotomy
  • Wound care

 

Core Requirements:

  • Current Licensed (or eligible for license) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
