About the Opportunity
The Clinical Therapist is a member of the Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions. Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Therapist provides assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. The Clinical Therapist carries out the general duties of the Adult Service team but in addition to those duties, participates in quality initiatives in the program of care, engages in collaborative person-centred care, and utilizes available information technology to support best practice. The Clinical Therapist receives and provides supervision and mentorship as part of a community of practice. It is an expectation that the Clinical Therapist will act in a professional and ethical manner, following all recognized codes of ethics, standards, legislation, and guidelines relevant to clinical practice and profession. They will convey respect and a solid understanding of subtle and complex diversity and inclusion issues as they relate to specific groups.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Master’s degree in a clinical health-related discipline - Master’s in social work, Psychology (Registered, Masters), Master’s in Counseling, Master’s in Nursing, Master’s in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used (DSM-5) for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in providing individual and group evidence informed therapies based on care plan to clients with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or concurrent disorders
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in collaborating with families in relation to sharing information and implementing family-sensitive services that involve families in the care and recovery of people living mental illness and addiction
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/intervention
- Non-violent crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment preferred
- Demonstrated awareness of community resources and programs
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- High level of written/oral/interpersonal communication skills; experience with conflict resolution
- Ability to work effectively in multiple software applications required
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with limited supervision and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Two (2) years related clinical experience (including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention and discharge planning) is required. If not available, candidates with less than two (2) years’ experience may be considered for the selection process. If offered employment, they will be placed on the Clinical Therapist (Dev) HTH130 scale

- Permanent Full-Time Position (100%); 75 hours Biweekly
Compensation and Incentives
Clinical Therapist: $37.13 - $48.81 Hourly
Clinical Therapist (Developmental): $33.10 - $41.80 Hourly
