About the Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager, Mental Health and Addictions, and the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT), the Occupational Therapy Assistant completes therapeutic and technical support duties in the delivery of occupational therapy services to Nova Scotia Health clients both independently and collaboratively with health care team members and students. The occupational therapy assistant is responsible for adhering to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Graduated from a recognized Community College Occupational Assistant Program
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the uses and sources of commercially available assistive devices and equipment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the properties and uses of various types of equipment
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills
  • Experience working in Mental Health and Addictions an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent full-time (100%) position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays

Compensation and Incentives

$22.84 - $25.95 hourly
