- Answer a series of questions about your training and clinical experience
- Upload a copy of your current CV (see detailed instructions below).

To be eligible for the assessment program you need to have completed a minimum of two years of internship or postgraduate training in family medicine or general practice , or internal medicine, within the last five years OR a minimum of 450 in person clinical hours of independent practice (not under supervision, acting as the most responsible physician) in family medicine or general practice within the last five years CPSNS 2025
Please ensure your work experience details clearly identify when you acted independently as the most responsible physician (defined by the physician, or other regulated healthcare professional, who has overall responsibility for directing and coordinating the care and management of a patient at a specific point in time CMPA, 2019). Each entry must explicitly outline when you were active in the role (when did you start/finish), if the role was full or part time, how many hours you attended per month, and if there were any gaps in your practise.
PACE is unable to accept hours practising in an Associate Physician or Clinical Assistant role when calculating currency.
Tips & Tricks
- Review the eligibility criteria on the CPSNS website before you begin.
- Once you are ready to apply, set aside 30-45 minutes to complete the application.
Before beginning the PACE application form, ensure you have all necessary information and documents ready. The form must be completed in one sitting, as progress cannot be saved mid-way and continued at a later time.
Please Note:
Do not call the PACE Clinic. Phone inquiries impact patient care and will not expedite or influence the application process. This direction is intended to help applicants and ensure an efficient review process for everyone.
Due to an anticipated high volume of applications, only eligible and selected applicants will receive a response.
Any updates or changes to the process or timelines will be posted on the NSPACE website. Please check there for the most current information about next steps.
Thank you for your time and interest in the PACE program
Due to the high volume of interest in the PACE office based program there is currently not an open call for applications for this pathway. At this time, we do not have a confirmed date for when applications will reopen. However, your details are now on file for future consideration. Once applications do reopen and selection review resumes only eligible and selected candidates will be contacted. This is necessary due to the limited number of spots available and the high volume of anticipated applications
