Job Description
North End Community Health Centre (NECHC) is seeking a part-time Family Physician (0.2–0.7 FTE) to join our collaborative, community-based primary care team with the Mobile Outreach Street Health (MOSH) program.
This is an in-person position providing both clinic-based and community outreach care to clients of MOSH and the Harm Reduction Programs. We have a strong preference for physicians who are comfortable working within a harm-reduction framework and who have experience in addiction medicine, as this is an important component of the population we serve. Addiction medicine mentorship is available for physicians who would benefit from additional support and development in this area.
Collaborative, Team-Based Care
NECHC and MOSH operate within a multidisciplinary model that supports comprehensive, patient-centred care. The team includes:
- Family physicians and nurse practitioners
- Registered nurses and foot care nurses
- Shared-care mental health professionals
- Occupational therapists, social worker, physiotherapist and dietician
- Health care managers
- Administrative and billing support staff
Across the Primary Care Clinic and MOSH, the current physician and nurse practitioner group includes six part-time family physicians, one full-time family physician, two full-time nurse practitioners, a social worker, and four part-time nurse practitioners.
Medical students and other learners are regularly present in the clinic, providing opportunities for physicians who are interested in teaching, supervision, and mentorship.
Physician Support and Work-Life Balance
We offer a well-supported practice environment with:
- Administrative support, including five front-office staff, an office manager, and dedicated billing support
- Coverage for planned physician absences through MOSH
- APP contract with no overhead
- A predictable schedule designed to support a healthy work-life balance
- Opportunities for professional development and addiction medicine mentorship
- The opportunity to provide meaningful care to an underserved and diverse community
This is an excellent opportunity for a family physician who values collaborative practice, harm reduction, community-based care, and continuity with patients who experience barriers to accessing traditional health care.
We welcome physicians interested in contributing to an innovative, multidisciplinary model of primary care while working alongside an experienced and supportive team
