Job Description

Cole Harbour Family Medicine is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage the following dates:

July 27, 2026- Aug 9, 2026
July 27, 2026- July 29, 2026
August 10, 2026- August 23, 2026
August 12, 2026- August 30, 2026 (part-time)
August 24, 2026- August 30, 2026
September 14, 2026- September 20, 2026
September 26, 2026-October 3, 2026

Responsibilities

  • delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Remuneration

  • guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
  • additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.
  • accommodations up to $300 per night 
  • travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
  • travel time up to 10 hours per week
  • licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)

Clinic Details 

Cole Harbour Family Medicine is Located in the Baker Drive area of Dartmouth. There are 7 family doctors on site, as well as a family practice nurse and two general surgeons. Providers work together to cross cover vacation times, etc. Same day urgent appointments are available for patients of the clinic, and physicians take turns in an evening duty clinic. The panel of patients is 1300, ranging from pre-natal to newborn to geriatrics. 
EMR in use is Accuro.
