Physicians provide comprehensive clinic-based family care, with opportunities to engage in periodic inpatient care and nursing home visits, supporting continuity across care settings. Additional urgent care shifts are available every Friday and on alternate weekends for those interested in supplementing their practice. Situated in a welcoming coastal community, the clinic offers a collegial atmosphere and a strong sense of connection to the patients it serves.
Job Description
Eastern Shore Memorial Family Practice is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage from July 29, 2026 to August 11, 2026.
Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
