Company Description

Family Focus Medical Clinics operate patient‑centered, team‑based primary care practices across HRM. The Forest Hills location is co‑led with Nova Scotia Health and includes Family Practice Nurses and Nurse Practitioners as part of the care team. The environment is warm, collegial, and collaborative, with physicians regularly supporting one another in daily practice. A Pediatric Allergist also practices on site. The clinic uses MedAccess EMR and offers strong administrative, billing, and managerial support.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive family medicine services within a team of three physicians.
• Absorb the patient panel of a retiring physician.
• Work collaboratively with Nova Scotia Health–employed Family Practice Nurses and Nurse Practitioners.
• Perform office‑based procedures if desired; the clinic provides instrument sterilization and support.
• Provide care with the support of experienced MOAs who manage billing and day‑to‑day operations.

Expected Hours

• Full‑time clinic hours, with flexibility according to physician preference.
• No on‑call responsibilities.
• Optional walk‑in shifts are available elsewhere within the Family Focus network, but not required.

Qualifications

• All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
