Port Hawkesbury Health Centre is a collaborative, patient-centred practice and a strong example of a Health Home model of care. The interdisciplinary team includes four physicians, a nurse practitioner, family practice nurse, dietitian, social worker, licensed practical nurse, continuing care coordinator, and five dedicated administrative staff who work together to provide comprehensive, coordinated care. The clinic has recently expanded to include additional exam rooms, along with an enhanced phone and patient appointment reminder system that supports efficient workflows and improved access for patients. This team-based environment allows providers to focus on high-quality, holistic care while being well supported in their day-to-day practice.

Job Description

Port Hawkesbury Health Centre is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage from February 9 to 27, 2026.

Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
