Company Description
Applications are invited for up to two full-time positions of Maternal Fetal Medicine sub-specialist in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health, and Dalhousie University. These positions are part of a group practice, located at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The successful candidates will also take up a continuing academic appointment with Dalhousie University, with academic rank dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Job Description
These positions report to the Department Head. Applicants must demonstrate experience and expertise in all clinical activities relevant to Maternal–Fetal Medicine, with proficiency in fetal medicine, invasive prenatal procedures, and the performance and interpretation of obstetric ultrasound. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the successful candidates will be expected to: contribute to the university teaching program; conduct or participate in clinical, biomedical, or population research; and assume a share of administrative responsibilities. As such, candidates must have a demonstrated aptitude and interest in research, leadership, and teaching, as well as be expected to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in the MFM Division and the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Qualifications
The successful candidates will possess Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or equivalent certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and will be eligible for, or possess, RCPSC or equivalent certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Preference will be given to candidates able to start the position in 2026.
