Job Description

Join an established family practice in Arichat, Cape Breton, NS, working alongside a team that includes another physician, a family practice nurse and licensed practical nurse as well as a part-time social worker and dietician, to provide primary care to the community. Arichat Medical Clinic offers a great team environment with opportunities for Urgent Care, Long Term Care, home visits, Hospitalist work, and teaching medical learners.

Arichat Medical Clinic is a collaborative, team-based family practice clinic that fosters mentorship, shared learning, and professional growth. Medical staff and physicians like and respect each other and work together for the best patient outcomes.

The clinic patients are from across the life span and an incoming provider could take on a retiring physician's panel. The clinic is accustomed to procedures such as excisions of cysts or moles, liquid nitrogen, electrocautery of lesions, IUD insertion, well-women’s, well-babies, vaccinations, joint injections, as well as other services.

Providers can work with the team to help shape the schedule, and a mixed practice is an option. Overhead is competitive and providers are supported by 3 admin staff who also support billing.

Physicians who enjoy being part of the community, and getting to know their patients will enjoy practicing in this community with a strong bilingual culture, deep roots to Cape Breton Island, and gorgeous scenery.
