Job Description

South Shore Regional Hospital (SSRH) is seeking a 12-month locum, Plastic surgeon, with potential for a permanent position.  Join Nova Scotia's thriving healthcare ecosystem, where your expertise is valued and your contributions drive innovative, compassionate care for generations to come.

Responsibilities

General plastic surgery including: 

  • Elective hand procedures
  • Skin cancer management
  • Emergency department referrals, including facial and hand trauma, and minor burns
  • Fully supported regular main OR and ambulatory clinic time is available in addition to an office with administrative support
  • Overhead and administrative expenses are shared with two other plastic surgeons
  • Affiliation with Dalhousie University with option to participate in research and surgical education 
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority. 
  • Interest in breast reduction is considered an asset

Expected Hours

  • Long term locum 0.8 FTE 
  • Call coverage for urgent referrals shared between group
