Strait Richmond Hospital (SRH) is a community hospital offering a range of health care services to residents of the surrounding area. The facility includes 21 acute care beds and 10 long-term care beds, providing both short-term and continuing care options. Located in Evanston, SRH is supported by two regional referral centres: Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes away, and St. Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish, roughly a 1-hour drive. In addition to inpatient and emergency care, the hospital is home to a variety of interdisciplinary services, including a community-based rehabilitation centre, diabetes education, diagnostic imaging, a dietitian, foot care clinic, hemodialysis, laboratory services, and a fully staffed emergency department. Patients also have access to mental health and addictions services, occupational therapy, palliative care, physiotherapy, and social work, contributing to a holistic approach to patient wellness.
Job Description
Strait Richmond Hospital is seeking Hospitalist Physicians to provide Locum coverage from June 21 to 27, 2025.
Compensation is provided by the service, and locum physicians are eligible to access the travel elements of the program, including reimbursement for kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
