The team includes a dedicated Nurse Practitioner and a Family Practice Nurse, who work closely together to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. The clinic is supported by experienced clerical staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and efficient patient scheduling. In addition to regular primary care services, the team also provides Ambulatory Care time, offering patients access to timely and focused care for acute and ongoing conditions. The clinic uses Med Access EMR, allowing for efficient documentation, communication, and coordination of care within the team and across the healthcare system.

Chester Community Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage for the following dates:
June 17-20, 2025
July 8-11, 2025
September 23-26, 2025
November 4-7, 2025
Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
