Job Description

Join an established collaborative family practice in North Sydney, working alongside physicians, NPs, family practice nurses, social workers, and allied health to provide primary care to the community. Northside General Collaborative offers supportive practice in a spacious and conveniently located clinic with opportunities for hospital work, urgent care, procedures, and teaching residents or medical learners.

Located 20 minutes from Sydney, Northside General Collaborative is conveniently located within the Northside General Hospital, offering a bright and welcoming environment with large windows overlooking the beautiful North Sydney waterfront. The collaborative provides convenient access to a range of in-house hospital services, supporting comprehensive and accessible care for patients in a comfortable setting.

Responsibilities

  • provide comprehensive, full-scope primary health care to practice patients of all ages and stages of health and illness
  • maintain timely and accurate patient records using a provincially approved electronic medical record (EMR)
  • participate in quality improvement, practice evaluation, and other activities that support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care
  • attend regular physician and team meetings
  • comply with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies, and professional standards of Nova Scotia Health
  • partake in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development opportunities 
  • participate in teaching of medical learners

Expected Hours

  • Full-time Equivalency or Part-time available
  • 46/52 weeks per year for full-time, office-based providers

Facility Information

Northside General (NG) is one of the community hospitals that operate as part of a four-hospital complex that includes New Waterford Consolidated, Glace Bay and the Cape Breton Regional hospitals. It serves the communities of North Sydney, Sydney Mines and surrounding areas. Located in North Sydney, NG provides inpatient, outpatient, and community-based care. The hospital also has a 22-bed continuing long term care unit, 14 transitional care (ALC) beds, and 45 medical beds.
