Lunenburg Family Health is a well-established collaborative clinic since 2009. The practice includes five full-time physicians, a nurse practitioner, a family practice nurse, an addiction and mental health counselor, a clinic manager, and administrative staff. Each provider offers same-day appointments one day per week for all clinic patients. Conveniently located next to Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital (FMH), a 55-bed acute care community hospital, the clinic provides opportunities for teaching as a preceptor with Dalhousie University medical students and residents. Lunenburg’s primary care providers maintain strong connections with specialists and allied health professionals through FMH’s outpatient and specialty ambulatory clinics. FMH offers a comprehensive range of services, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, long-term care, and community-based care. The hospital features 30 beds, plus a 23-bed Veteran’s Unit, and is well-equipped with diagnostic and treatment services. Physicians provide care for up to six inpatients in units such as restorative care rehab, alternate level of care, medical, and Veteran’s long-term care.
Lunenburg Family Health is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage from April 14 to 25, 2025.
Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
