The Dalhousie Student Health & Wellness Centre on the Halifax campus delivers comprehensive primary and mental health care services to university students and community patients. The Centre is supported by a collaborative, interprofessional team, including 15 family physicians, 2 family practice OB physicians, a nurse manager, 3 registered nurses, a psychiatrist, 9 FTE counselors, health promotion staff, and experienced administrative personnel.
The modern facility is well-equipped with two procedure suites featuring OR lights and procedural equipment. The Centre fosters a strong sense of collaboration and connection through regular physician meetings, PBSGL opportunities, and social events, including luncheons, holiday celebrations, and annual gatherings like boat cruises.
With Accuro as its EMR system, the Centre offers a supportive, collegial environment, making it an ideal place to practice.
Job Description
The Dalhousie Student Health & Wellness Centre is seeking a family physician to provide locum coverage from July 2, to August 1, 2025.
Physicians choose their own schedules with the operating hours of the Centre. The Centre is open Monday to Friday 8am-5pm and on Saturdays for on-call service from 1-4pm.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
