Company Description

This clinic is one of several new, turnkey collaborative practices supported by Nova Scotia Health. This clinic will have free parking, gyms on site, meeting rooms, conference a group medical space, bariatric rooms (equipped with bariatric exam beds and furniture), This is a turnkey model clinic with all staff in place. Floor plans and mock-ups of space available upon request. This clinic is created to provide physicians a place to do what they do best- care for patients.

Overhead for this clinic is extremely competitive flat monthly rate of $3500. EMR is MedAccess. 

The family physicians at this clinic will be expected to take patients off the Need A Family Practice Registry (811 list). This is a full-time opportunity, Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. The clinic will not be open during evenings or weekends, although the clinic may become part of an occasional after-hours care network in which physicians would rotate through one weekend shift every few months. 

Compensation for this opportunity is through the Longitudinal Family Medicine model (LFM). 

This clinic will be located in the Bayer's Lake area in Halifax. Clinic is currently being built, and doors are expected to open in August 2025. However, if a physician wishes to start sooner, temporary accommodations can be made. 

Opportunity is anticipated to be available in 2025.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;

  • Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
  • Act as a patient’s advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
