Practice Overview

Join a well-established private practice with a special focus on women’s reproductive mental health. This practice, located in a family practice clinic, offers a unique opportunity for a psychiatrist looking to maintain a healthy work/life balance. The psychiatrist is currently working 3-days a week; however, there is opportunity to accept new patients to increase patient load based as desired. The clinic is situated in a bright, welcoming office space facing the Bedford Highway, with easy access to major traffic routes and bus lines, and ample free parking.

Job Description

Office Details

  1. Location: Lawton’s Building, intersection of Hammonds Plains Road and Bedford Highway.
  2. Office Space: Two offices (one for the psychiatrist, one for an administrative assistant).
  3. Environment: Bright, spacious offices.
  4. Colleagues: 6 family physicians and one nurse in the same practice group, with 3 other family physician clinics on the same floor.
  5. Support Staff: Currently one administrative assistant for patient bookings, billing, and correspondence who is close to retirement. Administrative assistant may be open to staying on short-term to help the physician transition.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide psychiatric care with a focus on women’s reproductive mental health.
  2. Manage a caseload of approximately 150 ongoing patients, with potential for practice growth based on referral stream.
  3. Collaborate with family physicians and other healthcare providers for patient referrals.
  4. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) with support from MSI payments.

Qualifications

 

  1. Licensed psychiatrist with a focus or interest in women’s reproductive mental health.
  2. Experience in private practice preferred, but not required.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
