Company Description

This Primary Care Clinic supports care for unattached patients who have been triaged and determined that in-person care was necessary for the patient. The BLCOC Primary Care Clinic provides physicians the opportunity to work within a Nova Scotia Health managed, turn-key practice with a team of healthcare professionals such as Nurse Practitioners and Family Practice nurses to support patient care. The team is currently seeking physicians for a short term, interim position (approx. 6 months). FTE is flexible, but physician must be able to provide consistent, weekly hours based on need of the clinic.

With a supportive administrative team that includes four booking clerks, and administrative Team Lead and a Health Services Manager to support operational, scheduling, and billing needs, you can focus on what's important: providing patient care.  This clinic will function in partnership model with other Primary Care Clinics across the zone. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, excluding all holidays, evenings and weekends. Scheduling for physicians will be done in consultation with office managers to ensure continuity of care. This is a sessional, hourly paid position as per the 2023- 2027 physician agreement. There is no overhead for sessionally paid physicians at this clinic.

Physicians at this clinic will be providing short term coverage for patients who are presently unattached, have been triaged, and determined that in-person care was necessary for the patient.

The EMR in use is MedAccess.

This position reports to the Head, Department of Family Practice, Central Zone for their professional and clinical activities, and is supported by the Primary Health Care management team for administrative activities delivered for the Program.

Physicians must be licensed to practice in Nova Scotia.
