Nova Scotia Health in inviting candidates to apply below for casual relief positions. We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced administrative professionals to join our team. As an administrative professional at Nova Scotia Health, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our healthcare facilities and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
What is casual relief? Casual relief means you will be hired on a casual, non-permanent basis. You may be called in for shiftsas staffing needs arise, scheduled for coverage or offered shifts as an additional resource during planned or unplanned operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to various departments within Nova Scotia Health, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and maintaining accurate records.
- Act as the primary point of contact for communication via telephone and in person to patients, public, unit staff and other Nova Scotia Health departments.
- Assist with the coordination of meetings, events, and special projects as assigned.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries from patients, staff, and external stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and excellent communication skills.
- Utilize computer software and office equipment to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive work environment

Your Must Haves
- Grade 12 plus one year of related clerical experience or graduate of a recognized one-year office administration/secretarial/business program or equivalent education (ex: University degree)
- Applications from current Office Administration/Medical Office Administration programs graduating within 6 months will be accepted
- Additional administrative experience may be required depending on the position
- Medical terminology course considered an asset and may be required depending on position
- Experience in an administrative role, preferably within a healthcare or similar setting considered a strong asset

Compensation and Hours
- Hourly wages starting at $23.5304 up to $26.0513 hourly for positions that do not require experience
- Hourly rates increase for positions requiring previous experience and are based on the candidate's background and experience
- Additional 11% in lieu of vacation and benefits for casual relief hours worked
- Shifts may include day, evening, night, and weekends
