About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Physician Recruitment, the Talent Acquisition Specialist works collaboratively with the physician recruitment team, the department heads, site leads and other key stakeholders, to support the recruitment of physicians to areas of need across Nova Scotia. This role manages the hiring of external candidates and acts as the first point of contact for job seekers, applicants, and potential applicants. The role aims at providing timely and tailored communication with those interested candidates. The Talent Acquisition Specialist utilizes their knowledge and skills to strategically match candidates to open and unfilled positions, while providing exceptional customer service.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Physician Recruitment Consultant and Department Head specifically for positions that have been identified as Hard to Fill. In partnership with Physician Recruitment Consultants, The Talent Acquisition Specialist will act as the initial contact, to provide comprehensive Physician Recruitment Services to designated specialties (Department Head). The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work collaboratively with the Physician Recruitment Consultant on initiatives and projects. This position will be the liaison with regards to Physician Recruitment and Retention function as well as support for the Physician Recruitment Team.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for networking, creating, and maintaining close relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups. This position has a provincial scope and is remote. It can be based in any health zone.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a post-secondary degree/program in Human Resources, Communications, Business and Marketing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred
- Three (3) years of recent talent acquisition and/or recruitment experience required
- Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred
- Effective communication, customer service, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to gather, synthesize and analyze large sets of data
- Ability to clearly articulate policies and processes
- Well developed organizational and daily planning skills
- Knowledge of relevant Medical By- Laws and legislation (e.g. privacy legislation)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and human resource information system (SmartRecruiters)
- Effective research and analytical thinking skills
- Effective conflict resolution and rapport-building skills
- Effective work practice – accountable, dependable, flexible, persevering, sets goals and meets deadlines, results oriented
- Demonstrated self-starter, decision maker and problem solver
- Experienced in a strategic approach to hard to fill areas/positions
- Some travel will be required. Valid Driver's License required

Hours
- Permanent full-time position, 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits
$34.62 - $43.28 Hourly
