The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, General Accounting & Capital, the Senior Financial Analyst will support decision making relating to revenue and recovery completeness and optimization while ensuring compliance with related agreements, accounting standards and legislation. The Senior Financial Analyst will develop and track revenue KPIs and identify drivers through analytical and variance review. The Senior Financial Analyst will support funding reconciliations, project and claims reporting, provide funding agreement insights, and contribute to cost recovery reviews. This position will also support year end audit activities including AR/revenue confirmations, claims preparation and coordination, and revenue recognition and reporting including the preparation of funding consolidation schedules and disclosures.
This role will require knowledge of the principles of accounting with an understanding of healthcare administration preferred. Working collaboratively with all portfolios, this role will be a resource to aid management in the establishment and enhancement of effective revenue and pricing policies and processes. This role will support financial statement preparation including collaboration on the monthly and quarterly reporting packages including variance and analytics analysis. This role with also assist in the roll-out and implementation of revenue reporting using funds management in the ERP system (SAP S4/HAHA).
The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with the Manager and Director of the department as well as other Corporate Program teams to analyze data and provide insights that support informed revenue recommendations and enables the effective management of funding. Working with both internal and external audit teams the Senior Financial Analyst will help to ensure compliant and transparent financial reporting supported by appropriate documentation and controls.

Hours of Work
Monday - Friday; 7.5 hour days

Your Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized accounting diploma or degree program required.
- Canadian CPA Designation, or current enrollment/working toward designation is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years in accounting and finance roles with knowledge gained in the areas of budgeting, financial reporting, general accounting, financial analytics.
- Proven experience in the analysis and application of internal controls to create and maintain a strong control environment.
- Possesses a solid understanding of general accounting and internal controls
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to engage with and mentor staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with limited supervision required. Ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are a necessity. Extensive computer skills, particularly with MS Excel required.
- Experience in a hospital, government or non-profit setting and/or with Public Sector Accounting is considered an asset.
- SAP reporting experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with MIS standards is considered an asset.
- Competency in other languages will be considered an asset.
