About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) completes therapeutic and technical support duties in the delivery of occupational therapy services to QEII Health Sciences Centre clients both independently and collaboratively with health care team members and students. The Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible to adhere to QEII Health Sciences Centre policies and procedures and may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
 

  • Graduation from a recognized community college occupational assistant program
  • Annual BCLS certification
  • Previous experience and/or knowledge of seating and mobility systems an asset
  • Previous experience splinting and/or hand therapy considered an asset
  • Strong communication, creativity, problem-solving and organizational skills are required
  • Must be adaptable, flexible and demonstrate initiative
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with health care team members, clients, caregivers and students
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-Time Position (100%); 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • May be required to work weekends

Compensation and Benefits

$25.83 - $30.09 Hourly
